Celeste Baptist scheduled its Vacation Bible School to open May 31

Celeste Baptist planned its 1954 Vacation Bible School for May 31 through June 4, with Pastor Earl Allen named superintendent. The announcement connected the schedule to the week after local school closed.

1919 · Commerce

Commerce called an election to raise school taxes

Commerce scheduled a special election to decide whether to add 25 cents per $100 valuation for city school support. The paper said the increase was considered necessary to maintain the schools' standard.

Commerce Baptist Church began a revival meeting
