PRIVACY

Your privacy, plainly.

What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated May 31, 2026.

The Lens is a local news service for Hunt County, Texas. We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to publish the news and stay in touch with readers who ask us to, and we do not sell your information.

What we collect

Newsletter signups. When you subscribe, we collect your email address so we can send you our newsletter.

Opinion submissions. When you submit an opinion, we collect your name, email, phone number and address. We ask for contact information because we do not publish anonymous opinions and may need to verify that a real person submitted it.

Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers log routine request information (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.

How we use it

We use your email to send the newsletter you signed up for. We use opinion-submission details to review, verify and potentially publish your opinion, and to contact you about it. We use technical data to operate and protect the site. That's it.

Who we share it with

We use Constant Contact to manage and send our newsletter, so subscriber emails are stored with that service. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your choices

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. To ask what information we have about you, to correct it, or to have it removed, email us and we'll take care of it.

Children

The Lens is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
